Ayla Golf Club Named One of the World’s Most Sustainable Golf Courses
Hasadnews – Ayla Golf Club has strengthened its reputation as one of the world’s foremost sustainable sports and leisure destinations after receiving multiple international honors at the 2025 Sustainable Luxury Awards — a global platform that celebrates excellence in combining luxury with environmental and social responsibility.
This recognition marks a new milestone in Ayla’s ongoing commitment to sustainability as a fundamental part of its vision — one that integrates urban development, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
The award highlights Ayla’s consistent efforts to achieve harmony between people and nature by designing and operating its projects according to world-class sustainability standards. Ayla Golf Club earned five international titles, including Most Sustainable Golf Course in the Middle East, Most Sustainable Desert Golf Course in the World, Most Sustainable Golf Course in Jordan, Best Championship-Style Sustainable Golf Course in the Middle East, and Best Mountain-Style Golf Course in Asia.
The recognition reflects the club’s dedication to sustainable practices across all operations. A 9-megawatt solar plant supplies a substantial share of its energy needs, while reclaimed water is used to irrigate around 3,000 cubic meters of green space daily. In addition, the installation of LED lighting systems has reduced electricity consumption by more than 57 percent.
Commenting on the achievement, Eng. Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company, said: “This international honor reaffirms our belief that sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, we set out to create a model that unites sophistication with environmental awareness, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates Aqaba’s natural charm.”
He continued: “Ayla Golf Club brings our vision to life — transforming sport into a sustainable experience where design innovation and natural beauty exist in perfect balance.”
As Jordan’s first championship golf course, designed by golf legend Greg Norman, Ayla Golf Club embodies the company’s sustainable philosophy through an architecture that flows naturally with Aqaba’s captivating landscape. Spanning more than 800,000 square meters, the course’s sweeping greens, shimmering lagoons, and gentle contours create an atmosphere where play, nature, and contemporary design come together effortlessly.
This global achievement further elevates Aqaba’s status as a world-class tourism destination — a city where natural splendor, forward-thinking design, and sustainable infrastructure coexist in harmony, showcasing Jordan’s leadership in environmentally conscious tourism.
