Orange Jordan Organizes Awareness Session to Promote Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities
Hasadnews – Orange Jordan, aligning with its commitment towards inclusion, organized an awareness session titled “Skills for Interacting with Persons with Disabilities” in collaboration with the Jordan Paralympic Committee. It was held at the Innovation Hub in Orange Digital Village in Abdali.
The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of including persons with disabilities and enriching their experiences to empower them to play a pivotal role in their communities. It also shed light on several key topics, namely accurate PWD-related terminology, types of disabilities encountered in the workplace, and the psychological and health aspects of persons with disabilities. In this context, the session focused on the best practices for effective interaction and communication, while explaining the differences between inclusion, integration, and containment, supported by practical examples demonstrating how to put these concepts into practice.
The workshop was presented by the President of the Jordan Paralympic Committee, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Hashemite University, Professor Dr. Omar Hindawi. He shared his rich experience and inspiring success stories, along with insights about the integrated roles that both institutions and individuals should play to create an inclusive society across all sectors.
This step came as part of the extended partnership that ties Orange Jordan and the Jordan Paralympic Committee, based on their shared vision of empowering persons with disabilities and providing them with opportunities to explore their potential and talents. This will lead to a supportive and inclusive society, thereby contributing to the sustainable national development.
