Hasadnews – As part of its ongoing commitment to addressing climate change and combating desertification, and in line with its sustainability strategy, Zain Jordan organized a volunteer initiative to plant 500 trees, both forest and fruit-bearing, in Al Hussein Youth City.

The event, attended by the Director General of Al Hussein Youth City, Bassam Al-Khalayleh, volunteers from Zain’s team alongside members of Vespa Jordan Riders. This initiative aligns with Zain’s environmental programs aimed at expanding green spaces, improving air quality, promoting biodiversity, and contributing to a sustainable future. It also seeks to encourage community involvement, foster a culture of environmental responsibility, and enhance the country’s natural landscape.

To date, Zain has planted 18,150 trees across various areas and governorates of the Kingdom. As part of its long-term sustainability strategy, Zain collaborates with several local organizations to drive impactful environmental projects. Through its strategic partnership with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, Zain supports efforts to preserve Jordan’s national tree, Al- Malloul Oak tree, in Al Yarmouk Forest Reserve. This includes rehabilitating sections of the reserve, restoring deteriorating trees, and planting 250 oak trees in Zain’s dedicated area within the reserve.

Additionally, Zain plays an active role in the Green Caravan initiative in partnership with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, supporting 55 underprivileged Jordanian farmers by providing resources to cultivate their land and secure sustainable income. Zain Jordan also continues its reforestation efforts in Thaghrat Asfour, located in Jerash, governorate in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Forestry department, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to environmental conservation.
